Andrew Tan founded Megaworld Properties & Holdings Inc. under the Philippine law on August 24, 1989.
In 1994, Megaworld Properties & Holdings Inc. focused on the middle - income market. It developed the so-called Community Housing Division. On July 15, 1994, Megaworld Corporation decided to spin it off into Empire East Land Holdings, Inc.
The company changed its name to Megaworld Corporation on August 19, 1999. It converted the company from a pure real estate company to a holding company. They continue to focus on real estate development.
By 2013, Megaworld Corporation gained full accession of Suntrust Properties.
It has been a long journey for Megaworld Corporation. All this time, Andrew Tan is the Chairman of the Board and President of the company.
