Ayala Corporation has acquired and developed a vast tract of land in the 1980s which cemented its reputation as one of Philippine’s land developers who fulfills the dreams of Filipinos to have their residential property.

It was only in 1988 that Ayala Corporation expanded its real estate developments which gave birth to Ayala Land Inc. (ALI)

In the 1990s, Laguna Properties Holdings, Inc. (LPHI) was developed under Ayala Land Inc. to offer middle-income housing properties and communities. It was at this period that Ayala Land Inc. was able to acquire a 400=hectare property owned by the Yulo Family in Sta. Rosa Laguna and converted it to an integrated industrial-residential-commercial master plan. 

It was also the place where the 120-hectare residential community was developed which we now know as the Sta. Rosa Village and San Jose Village, a 2,500 housing units to shelter the middle-class Filipinos.

With the series of successful projects, LPHI has set its vision in line with ALI's vision which is "Enhancing Land, Enriching Lives, for More People."

In the year 2003, was the year LPHI first entered the developments of residential condominiums with its first property named One Aeropolis which was renamed as Avida Towers Sucat, located in the heart of Sucat, Paranaque. 

It was not even a year later, the following project was built along Boni Serrano Avenue in Quezon City which was named Avida Towers New Manila.

LPHI also delved into government projects to serve the soldiers and fulfill their dream of having their own homes. The company closed a deal with the Armed Forces of the Philippines to design and construct housing units on a 20-hectare land in Camp Riego de Dios in Tanza Cavite.

By the year 2005, LPHI had already 22 projects in 10 locations with 18,000 residential units in over 600 hectares of land.

In 2006, Laguna Properties Holdings Inc. rebranded its name to AVIDA which means "to celebrate life." In January 2006, Avida Land started Avida Towers San Lazaro, in partnership with the Manila Jockey Club to turn part of the San Lazaro Hippodrome into a residential complex composed of five towers. This development was part of a larger ALI development which includes business process outsourcing (BPO) offices and a high-end project of Alveo Land, another ALI company.

 

Such projects were followed by additional residential subdivisions - Avida Residences San Isidro in Batangas City, and Avida Residences San Fernando in Pampanga.
